Diabetes Control Without Insulin: Union Home Minister Amit Shah shared an inspiring experience regarding his health. He told how after battling diabetes for a time, he not only controlled the disease by changing his lifestyle but also made himself more fit than before. What did Amit Shah say?
Speaking at an event organized on the occasion of World Liver Day 2025, he said, “I was diabetic, but after May 2020, I made major changes in my daily routine.” He told that getting the right amount of sleep, drinking enough water, adopting a balanced diet and doing regular exercise proved to be a game changer for his health. He further said, “Today I am standing in front of you without any allopathic medicine and insulin.”

Adopting T-small habits continuously
He also told that due to these changes his weight reduced by more than 20 kg. He believes that no big change happens suddenly, but only by continuously adopting small habits, the long-term effect is visible.
Giving a message to the youth, he said that it is important to keep both body and mind healthy. Take two hours of exercise daily for your body and at least six hours of sleep for your mind. This is advice based on my own experience.
Discipline and balance
If we want to learn something from his journey, then the most important thing is discipline and balance. Good sleep, plenty of water and balanced home-cooked food makes the body strong from within. It is equally important to stay away from processed food and excess sugar. Regular exercise should be made a part of your daily routine. It is not necessary to always go to the gym, you can also choose walk, yoga, or any sport. The most important thing is continuity. Apart from this, one should avoid adopting crash diets or shortcuts in order to get quick results. Real change comes slowly and is lasting.

What changes should be made in lifestyle?
He also told that it is very important to take care of the liver. For this, it is beneficial to limit alcohol consumption, avoid excessive oily food and include food items like green vegetables, citrus fruits and turmeric in the diet. In the end his message was to start small, but do it continuously. Keep adding changes one by one, and over time these habits can completely change your health.
