If you are a student of engineering, science or research and dream of making a career in the field of space science, then Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC), one of India’s leading space research institutes, has announced a great internship opportunity for students. This center works under the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and plays an essential role in the country’s space missions.
This internship program is exclusively for Indian students who are studying science and technical subjects related to the Department of Space (DoS) and ISRO. Interested students can apply online by visiting the official website. The last date of application has been fixed as March 16, so it is important to apply on time.
Who can apply?
Students studying in recognized institutions in India and abroad, who are enrolled in regular on-campus courses or have completed their studies within six months from the last date of application, can apply for this internship. Completion of course work is mandatory for PhD students. Applicants must have at least 60 percent aggregate marks or 6.32 CGPA on a 10 point scale.
B.Tech and B.E. Special rules for students
Project work will be done in groups of 2 to 4 students. All students should be from the same branch, semester and college. Individual applications will not be accepted. Final year BE/B.Tech students can apply. Final year students of B.Sc. (Physics/Chemistry) and Diploma in Electronics, Mechanical or Computer Science are also eligible.
Important dates of application
Students can apply on different dates during the year. In which for July-September session you can apply till 15th May and for October-December session you can apply till 15th August. Keep in mind that the last date of every session is fixed, so it would be better to apply before time.
Duration of Internship
Duration will vary according to the course. Minimum 45 days, maximum 90 days for BE/B.Tech, 45 to 60 days for B.Sc and Diploma students. For other programs the duration can be from 21 to 45 days. The Center has clarified that this internship will be held only in unclassified areas of VSSC/ISRO. No financial assistance will be given during this period.

1. The number of students selected will depend on the facilities available.
2. In case of large number of applications, it is not possible for everyone to get the opportunity.
