Humanoid Robot Bolt: Chinese robotics company MirrorMe Technology has introduced a humanoid robot which has set a new record in terms of speed. The company claims that its new robot Bolt is the fastest running humanoid ever. During tests conducted in real conditions, Bolt achieved a tremendous speed of 10 meters per second.
Historic achievement made outside the lab
According to the report of Interesting Engineering, Bolt is the first humanoid robot of its size to achieve such high speed outside the lab. Even before this, MirrorMe has been in the news for its fast robots. Last year, his Black Panther II surprised everyone on Chinese TV by completing the 100 meter race in just 13.17 seconds, leaving behind many famous robots in terms of speed.

About 175 cm tall and weighing 75 kg, Bolt has been designed keeping in mind the ideal shape of the human body. It combines high-performance engineering with human-like body proportions. Newly designed joints and a completely optimized power system have been installed in the robot so that it can maintain extremely high speed while mimicking natural human movements.
Aim to make super-robots, not just fast
MirrorMe says that its aim is not just to make the world’s fastest robot. The company wants to develop such super-species robots that can approach or surpass humans in terms of physical strength and movement. According to the developers, the launch of Bolt is considered a major breakthrough in the balance control, fast movement and drive system of humanoid robots.
The race between humans and robots attracted attention
During the promotional demo, company founder and research head Wang Hongtao was seen running on a treadmill with Bolt. It is clearly visible in the video that Bolt’s steps are smaller than that of a human but the frequency of his steps is so high that he competes in speed.
China moving forward in robotic athletics
The increasing focus on robotic sports in China is also reflected in this success. Last year in August, the first World Humanoid Robot Games was held in Beijing where Tien Kung humanoid won the 100 meter race in 21.5 seconds.
