Apple has made a lot of preparations for Siri and now it wants to make it an AI chatbot. After lagging behind Google and OpenAI in the matter of generative AI, Apple no longer wants to wait any longer. The company will develop the new Siri on Google’s Gemini AI model and it will be launched this year. Apple has given this project the codename ‘Campos’ and this update will completely change the way Siri works. As soon as the new Siri arrives, the existing interface will change and it will work like a conversation chatbot.
How will the new Siri work?
According to reports, the method of summoning Siri will be the same as the old one. Users will be able to activate Siri by saying ‘Hey Siri’ or holding the side button, but it will work like ChatGPT and Gemini chatbots. Here users will be able to interact with it in a natural way. The new Siri will have many features like web searching, content creation, image generation, summarizing information and analyzing uploaded files. Apple wants to directly compete with Gemini and ChatGPT.
Will be embedded in iOS 27
The new Siri will be embedded in iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27. It will not be launched as a standalone app but will be integrated into Apple’s core apps, so that users will be able to do things like editing photos, drafting emails and searching any messages or files just by giving voice commands. Apple can give a glimpse of it in its WWDC event to be held in June and it can be rolled out for users by September. Before that, Apple will roll out iOS 26.4 update, in which Apple Intelligence will be upgraded.
Apple has partnered with Google
Recently Apple and Google have announced partnership. Under this, Google’s Gemini model will be used to provide AI features in Apple devices and services. Under this partnership, it was announced to bring a new version of Siri.
