The full name of Wi-Fi is Wireless Fidelity. This technique uses radio waves to send and catch the data in the air. Just as the waves coming out of the radio station reach your radio and turn into a voice, similarly the waves coming out of the Wi-Fi router reach your mobile or computer and turn into the Internet signal there. This process is so fast that we do not feel any delay.

When you use Wi-Fi, the internet first reaches the router from a broadband connection or mobile network present in your home or office. The router converts that internet signal from digital data to radio waves. These waves spread in the air and the Wi-Fi receiver of your device catches them. After this, the receiver changes these radio waves again into digital data and similarly your phone or laptop connects to the Internet.

Wi-Fi mainly uses two types of waves. The first is the 2.4 GHz band, the specialty of which is that its range is more but the speed is slightly low. The second is the 5 GHz band, which gives higher speed but its range is slightly limited.

This is the reason that if you go away from the router or the walls come in the middle, then the Wi-Fi signal can be weak. Nowadays new technologies like Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 give even more fast and reliable connectivity.

If there was no Wi-Fi, every device would have to be connected to the wire for the Internet, which would not only lay a net of wires in place but it is not easy to use portable devices like mobile and laptop. Wi-Fi has made the Internet truly mobile and easy. Now you can sit and do net surfing, make video calls, join the online class or enjoy entertainment.

Wi-Fi not only makes our life more smart but also keeps us completely connected. This technique with the help of radio waves spread in the air makes us experience the internet without a wire by transporting the data from one device to another. This is the reason that Wi-Fi has become one of the most important techniques in today’s digital world and in the coming time it will be seen even more fast and safe.
