How will this system work?
According to the patent, the AI system will understand the user’s tone, preferences and behavior patterns. Once trained, it will be able to automatically respond to other users’ posts, respond to direct messages, and do all the work on social media that a real user would do. This can work in case of death of the user as well as in case the account holder wants to take a long break from social media. This feature can also be useful for creators and influencers. When they are busy somewhere else, this system will keep updating their accounts continuously.
Not just text, also audio-video feature
This system will not only have text based interactions but will also have AI generated audio and video conversations. Based on past recordings and behavioral data, the system will make audio-video calls using synthetic audio and visual elements, which will appear as real as possible.
Questions are being raised on technology
Meta is not the first company to bring such technology. Earlier in 2021, Microsoft had also patented a chatbot, which can respond like people after their death using their digital content.
