Treatment started with AI in AIIMS Delhi, these diseases will be identified soon

Now the style of treatment in Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is changing rapidly. Here such smart technology has started working which analyzes the test report of the patient even before he reaches the doctor. With the help of Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI, the process of diagnosing the disease and deciding the direction of treatment is becoming faster and more accurate than ever before.

AI will now look first at the X-ray report

After chest X-ray in AIIMS, its first examination is now done by an advanced AI system. This technology scans the image in a few seconds and indicates possible infection, lump or other abnormalities. By the time the report reaches the doctor, the initial analysis is ready, which saves time in taking decisions. This has not only reduced the work pressure in the overcrowded government hospital but the patients also do not have to wait long for the reports.

Preparing to catch cancer in its early stages

In view of the increasing cases of breast cancer in the country, the expert team of AIIMS is developing a new AI-based technology. Dr. Kritika Rangarajan and her team are working on a system that can detect very early signs of cancer. Often this disease appears when it has spread in the body. The aim of the new technology is to eliminate this delay.

Testing of this system is going on in many major medical centers of the country. If cancer is caught in the early stages, treatment is more effective and chances of survival increase manifold. AI based analysis will help doctors to start treatment in time.

Hi-tech eye examination will reach villages through ‘Madhunetra’

AIIMS has started a special program called ‘Madhunetra’ in collaboration with the government. This AI based system scans the internal images of the eyes and identifies retinal problems caused by diabetes or other reasons. Information about risk is available immediately after examination, due to which timely treatment becomes possible.

There is a plan to implement this initiative across the country so that people in rural and remote areas can also get advanced testing facilities like big cities. Experts believe that machines work continuously and tirelessly, which reduces the possibility of human error. Although doctors take the final decisions, AI is now playing the role of a strong assistant for them.
