Whatsapp New Feature: WhatsApp is soon preparing to introduce a feature that can completely change the way you chat. According to reports, the company is working on a new privacy feature in which messages will automatically disappear after a few minutes of being read. This feature will be especially beneficial for those users who want to keep their personal conversations more secure.
What will make the After Reading feature special?
It is being told that this new feature has been named After Reading. This means that as soon as the other person reads your message, it will automatically get deleted after some time. In the existing disappearing messages feature, messages are deleted after 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days, but this new update will be much faster and advanced than that.
Message will disappear in 15 minutes
According to reports, under this feature the message can be automatically deleted within about 15 minutes of being read. Whereas if the message is not opened then it can get automatically deleted within 24 hours. The special thing is that this feature will work even if you have turned off read receipts i.e. blue tick.
Will be beneficial for sensitive information
This feature can prove to be very useful in situations when you have to send temporary information to someone. Like OTP, password or any personal details, all these will be removed in no time without any trace. This will not only keep the chat clean but can also reduce the risk of data leakage.
Currently in testing, launch pending
Currently this feature is in the testing stage and some users have seen it in the beta version of Android. The company has not yet given any official information regarding its launch date. It is believed that after it is completely ready, it can be rolled out in the upcoming updates.
Be careful while using
Although this feature will strengthen privacy, it would not be right to say it is completely secure. Any user can take a screenshot of the message or copy it. Therefore, it will be important to use this feature wisely.
