Apple launched the iPhone 17 series in September this year. Despite inflation and rising component costs, its price was not increased. Despite the great upgrades and increased base storage, it is being sold in the US for $799. Samsung has had to change its plans due to this iPhone and its price. Let us know why Samsung had to change its plans with iPhone 17.
Galaxy S26 was getting expensive due to upgrade
Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy S26 series early next year. The company wanted to give many upgrades to the standard Galaxy S26 of this series and make this phone 0.3mm thinner than the S25. Also, it wanted to replace the 4,000mAh battery of the existing model with a 4,900mAh battery pack. Due to all these upgrades the price of the model was increasing. Samsung felt that if it kept its standard model expensive, it could lag behind the iPhone 17.
Samsung made this change
To keep the price at par with the iPhone 17, Samsung has decided to reduce many features of the upcoming phone. Now the company will not reduce its thickness. Apart from the earlier planning, a battery pack of 4,300mAh will be provided in it. Apart from this, the plan to provide 50MP ultra wide camera lens has also been cancelled.
The challenge will be to keep the price low
Despite cutting upgrades, it may be challenging for Samsung to keep the price of the Galaxy S26 low. Due to component cost and expensive storage, this phone will cost Samsung more. Apart from this, the company has to pay more money for Qualcomm’s flagship chip. In such a situation, it remains to be seen how the company overcomes this challenge of keeping the price low.
