Protein deficiency remains a serious health challenge in India. Taking an important step in this direction, Patanjali Foods Limited’s flagship brand ‘Nutrela’ launched a massive food distribution campaign in 52 slums of Delhi-NCR under its social responsibility campaign ‘#NutrelaGivesBack’ on the occasion of National Protein Day. Through this initiative, high protein rich food was served to about 1 lakh children.
Special focus on quality and nutrition
Special care was taken about the nutritional quality of each meal distributed. This food was prepared from Nutrela Chunks, which contain 52% natural and plant-based protein. Additionally, Nutrela Soybean Oil was used for cooking, which is fortified with Vitamin A and D as well as rich in essential nutrients like Omega 3 and 6.
thinking of nation building
On this occasion, CEO of Patanjali Foods Limited, Mr. Sanjeev Asthana said that Nutrela is not just a brand but a part of the vision of nation building. He stressed, “Patanjali believes that the foundation of a strong nation rests on education and health. It is extremely important to overcome the protein deficiency in India and we are trying to fill this gap with the resolve of ‘India ko strong banate hai, Nutrela khate hai’.”
success achieved through partnership
To streamline this large-scale campaign, Nutrela partnered with reputed voluntary organizations like Robin Hood Army, Truly Help and HelpinHumanity. With the cooperation of these organizations it became possible to provide nutrition to the last child of the settlements.
This campaign is not limited to just food distribution, but is a positive step towards a bright and healthy future of the country, reflecting Nutrela’s commitment to provide better nutrition to the children of India.
