Google Gemini AI Photo: While scrolling on the internet, the question often arises whether the picture we are seeing is real or has been created by some AI tool. Be it a photo sent by a friend, a social media post or a random image seen online, it has become common to be suspicious. Earlier, errors in AI images were easily visible, but now the images have become so realistic that it is becoming difficult to differentiate between real and fake. Now Google itself has started providing the solution to this problem.

Gemini comes with in-built image verification feature

Google has confirmed that its Gemini app now has a new image verification tool that can tell whether a photo is created by Google’s AI model or not. The company has introduced this feature with its new Gemini 3-powered Nano Banana Pro model so that users can easily identify AI-generated content.

This entire system works on Google’s SynthID technology, a digital watermarking technology that adds invisible markers to photos created with Google’s AI tools. These markers do not change the image, nor are they visible to the eye, but Gemini can scan them and tell whether the image is made by Google AI or not.

There is also a limitation of this feature, Gemini can recognize only those photos on which Google’s SynthID watermark is present. That means, if the image is created by any other AI model then Gemini will not be able to track it. Despite this, this feature is extremely useful because since 2023, Google has applied SynthID on more than 20 billion AI-generated images.

How to check any image?

Users can use it very easily. Upload a suspicious image to Gemini and ask “Is this made by Google AI?” “Is this photo AI-generated?” Gemini detects SynthID markers within the image and gives clear and accurate answers.

Why is this feature important?

As the proliferation of AI images increases, it has become increasingly important to identify real and fake content. Google’s new tool may not be able to recognize images on every platform, but it is a reliable security feature that will help users better evaluate the visual information they see on the Internet.
