Taking a historic step, Delhi University (DU) has taken a big decision to equip its students with future technology. Now DU students will be able to learn state -of -the -art skills like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Analytics and Digital Literacy. For this, DU has signed a multi -year cooperation agreement with Google Cloud, which will make the students technically stronger.
A formal settlement letter was signed between DU and Google Cloud for this partnership. The main objective of this cooperation is to promote innovation in students and provide facilities like incubation facility, technical support and cloud credit to increase startups.
Dean of College Prof. Balaram Pani says that this partnership will be beneficial for both DU and Google. This will not only teach students advanced technical skills, but will also prepare them for the changing environment of the industry. At the same time, DU Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta said that the use of technology is increasing rapidly in every field today, and DU has already started many new courses according to the National Education Policy 2020. With this new cooperation, these courses will get further strengthened.
Big step towards AI based education
This joint effort of DU and Google Cloud will give students a chance to do recognized courses in the industry. These courses will have the facility of not only theory, but also practical lab, evaluation and certification. In addition, students will get an opportunity to participate in special events like hackathon and webinars, which will increase their technical experience and confidence. Dean of Faculty of Technology Prof. Sanjeev Singh said that in this program, students will be trained under the circumstances like real industry. With this, they will not only be better in studies, but will also be ready for new employment opportunities.
Sasikumar Sreedharan, Managing Director of Google Cloud India, described this cooperation as an important step towards creating AI competent educational environment in India. He says that this partnership will give a new direction to India’s higher education sector in the coming years. On this occasion, several officials including DU Culture Council President Anoop Lather, Public Sector Edtech of Google Cloud India and Country Director of Education Ashish Vattal, Country Head Vaibhav Srivastava were present.
