CBSE postpones 10th-12th exams in Middle East amid Israel-Iran war, know latest updates

The situation between America, Israel and Iran is not improving. While both the countries are jointly attacking Iran, Iran is also responding to them. American bases in Gulf countries are being attacked by Iran. Due to which the entire Middle East is going through a very stressful situation. In such a situation, big news has come out for the children studying in CBSE schools there. The board has currently postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations to be held on March 5 and 6, 2026 in some Middle East countries.

CBSE Board has clearly said that the safety of students and employees engaged in examination duty comes first. The new exam schedule will be announced later. CBSE said in its statement that this decision has been taken after a serious review of the current situation in some parts of the Middle East. The board also said that the safety of students is the biggest responsibility. Therefore no risk will be taken. Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj has appealed to the students and parents to remain in constant touch with their schools and rely only on the official information of CBSE.

No new dates announced at present

The examinations of March 5 and 6 have been postponed by the board for now. New dates will be announced later. The situation will be reviewed again on March 5 regarding the examinations to be held from March 7. If the situation becomes normal then further examinations can be held on time. But if the situation remains serious then the board can take further necessary steps.

Information also given to the embassy

Information about this decision has also been sent to the Indian Ambassadors in the concerned countries and the Indian Consul General in Dubai. Its purpose is that correct and uniform information should reach everywhere and students should not face any kind of problem. Further, the Indian Embassy and the school will jointly communicate the new dates to the students and their families.

Why was this decision taken?

The situation is quite tense at present in many countries of the Middle East. In the last week, America and Israel attacked many targets in Iran. In these attacks, the news of the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came to light. After this, retaliatory attacks were also carried out from Iran’s side. After these incidents, an atmosphere of fear and instability has been created in the entire area. In such circumstances, reaching schools and examination centers can be difficult at many places. In view of this, CBSE decided to postpone the examinations as a precaution.
