Tim Cook, CEO of American tech giant Apple, never wanted to join this company. In 1998, Cook was working in Compaq, a PC manufacturer at that time. Compaq was growing fast at that time and Apple’s performance was not special. At the same time, Apple was proposed to join Tim Cook several times on behalf of Apple, but he refused every time. Why did not Apple want to join Cook?
In 1998, Cook was playing a big role in Compaq and his job was going well. On the other hand, Apple was being called a sinking ship at that time. Dale CEO Michael Dale had said that Apple should close and return investors’ money. In such a situation, Cook was not ready to leave his comfortable job and come to Apple.
5 minutes of meeting changed everything
Jobs themselves met him after repeated proposals from Cook. The meeting between the two lasted for about 5 minutes. Cook told that he had intended that he would not agree to the job in Apple, but the vision of Jobs changed his attitude. Jobs told him about a new type of computer coming to Future and Market. These things of Jobs had a profound effect on Cook and they decided there that he would work with Apple.

When Cook decided to leave the Compaq and join Apple, many of his colleagues and friends tried to stop him. His friends had called Cook as a fool to take this decision, but he ignored them all and today is the CEO of one of the world’s largest companies.
