Researcher of Imperial College, London has now prepared a stethoscope, which can detect three diseases in just 15 seconds with the help of AI.
Old device, new technology
Stathoscope, which was hanging around the neck of doctors, started in 1816. Now millions of people will be saved by using new technology like AI in it. Now AI-powered stethoscope can detect heart failure, artial fibrillation and valvular heart disease in 15 seconds. While the traditional stethoscope can hear the patient’s heartbeat or respiratory sound, the AI-powered stethoscope can also notice a small change in the heart or small change in the blood flow. Along with this, it is also capable of ECG of the patient.
How does the device works?
AI stethoscope is placed on the patient’s chest for ECG. It records the electric signals emanating from the heart, while the microphone in it records the sound of blood flowing towards the heart. After this AI algorithm analyzes this data. This algorithm can also note the change that doctors are unable to catch. After the process, the entire data is sent to the smartphone app, so that the health of the patient’s heart can be detected. It was revealed in the trial that this device guesses what a person can have a heart related disease in the next 12 months. On this basis, along with changing his routine, he can also start treatment for it.
